She has mentored many a young model but Tyra Banks still reigns supreme.

The America's Next Top Model host channelled her inner Marlene Dietrich while attending the Women In Whites: The 2013 James Beard Foundation Gala at the Four Seasons Restaurant.

The 39-year-old stunner bore a black turban for the ultimate dramatic look on the red carpet.

The headgear didn't hide the waves of honey-coloured hair, which cascaded past her shoulders in a carefully coiffed curls.

The supermodel wore a cutaway full-length dress with long sleeves and a sweeping boat neck featuring an asymmetrically shoulder strap that added to the gown's overall unique look.

The right side of the dress was adorned with black gemstones given balance to the unusual 'little black dress.'

Banks wore a sterling silver ring-to-wrist bracelet that twisted the semi-precious metal around her hand in many loops.

The hand adornment matched her black earring, which dangled outside the turban in link fashion.

While at the gala, Banks posed for pictures with domestic goddess Martha Stewart and a very pregnant Top Chef host, Gail Simmons. The three women co-hosted the gala as honourary event chairs for the James Beard event.

The 37-year-old Simmons wore a tight fitting plum-coloured evening gown with a plunging neckline that emphasized her large belly.

The 72-year-old Stewart looked demure in a dark green satin coat featuring a neck scarf to tie off the top. She paired the jacket with a gold patterned skirt and metallic stiletto shoes with bows at the toes.

The Women in Whites event celebrates women in the cooking industry, as some of the country's most talented and successful female chefs were invited for a multi-course gourmet meal, paired with fine wines made by world's most accomplished women winemakers.
