Dios mio! George Clooney and Cindy Crawford show off their dreamy side-by-side Mexican villas in Architectural Digest

George Clooney is such good friends with Cindy Crawford and her husband Rande Gerber that when the couple suggested they build luxury vacation homes next door to each other in Los Cabos, Mexico, the Ocean's Eleven actor said sure.
Now they're letting the world into their twin oases with a breathtaking spread in the November issue of Architectural Digest.
Though the dreamy ocean-front properties appear similar on the outside, inside they have different touches.

'We saw this oceanfront lot and thought maybe it made sense to building something,' Rande tells the magazine.
At first it was thought that creating one gigantic house to accommodate all of them would be a good idea. But then it was thought making two stand alone structures would be a better decision.
'Our lives go back and forth,' Cindy, 47, says. 'We'll have cocktails at our place and dinner at George's, or vice-versa.'

The properties are enormous with high ceilings and breathtaking views of the Sea Of Cortez.
Light pours in from every angle as some of the rooms, like the courtyards, barely have any ceilings at all, and the living rooms have doors that open so wide that an outdoor feeling is created.
Wood, stucco and cement are some of the primary materials used to create the mansions.
Beige, white and dark brown are the main colors used.

The compound is called Casamigos - House of Friends - which is also the name of the tequila brand that Rande and George, who have been friends for over 20 years, launched recently.
Everything was done in tandem, from the designing of the properties to the actual hammering of nails.
George, 52, had no problema with his friend taking the lead on the massive project because they share similar taste.
'Rande has this amazing eye for houses and style,' George tells the publication.
Still, the actor was present at regular meetings concerning the homes and he traveled to the site every few weeks to offer his opinion.
'I wanted something that would blend in,' he notes, 'something indigenous that would feel in harmony with the setting.'

The houses, designed by the firm of Ricard Legorreta, one of Mexico's finest architects, have many similarities but have been decorated differently.
Each structure is entered through a lengthy hallway that flows into a jaw-dropping double-height central courtyard.
That space connects to a series of sitting areas which include dining spaces, an open kitchen, and a bar.
George's bar is especially large because he often has friends over to take in a sports match on his wide-screen TV, per the magazine.
The outdoor living space is luscious. Each home has long pools and ample seating areas. There are also outdoor dining spaces at each property.
George is in good company for having appeared in the design bible.
His friend Brad Pitt graced the cover in January 2009 to promote his New Orleans eco-housing project while Jennifer Aniston (no doubt wanting to out-do her ex-husband) showed off her stunning LA retreat, which has since been sold, in the March 2010 issue.

When George was dating Stacy Keibler earlier this year, he had her visit the villa.
They were often seen lounging by the pool in bathing suits and sombreros.
His Italian girlfriend of two years Elisabetta Canalis also went South Of the Border with the Syriana actor, often pictured in a bikini by his side.
On Wednesday, the same day photos of his villa were released, it was reported that the Hollywood vet was dating Croatian model Monika Jakisic, 33.
They have had an off and on relationship since 2004, according to UsWeekly, and rekindled that spark on September 25 when he had the beauty over to his LA house.
That means the box office phenomenon, whose film Gravity opens Friday, may not be alone next time he jets to his beach retreat.
