Action man! David Beckham turns stuntman as he clambers over East London rooftop in his underwear for new ad

He may be retired, but David Beckham isn't going to stop his athletic lifestyle just yet.

The former footballer showed he's just as fit as ever as he stripped down to his underwear for a action-packed shoot in East London on Tuesday.

The father-of-four was wearing just a vest and briefs as he clambered on the roof of the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, Shoreditch.

Of course due to the nature of the job, there was harness attached to the millionaire to keep his safe from harm.

David, 39, was filming a new advert for the new collection of his H&M bodywear range, which is due out for release in February 2014.

A H&M spokesman said: 'David Beckham has begun filming in London. It is for a new H&M collection.

'We are very happy to continue the collaboration with David and are looking forward to launching a new collection and campaign in February next year.

The bizarre sight of Becks running around on top of the famous building caused quite a stir amongst workers and residents in the surrounding area, who took to Twitter to share the excitement.

One Twitter user tweeted: 'David Beckham is on the roof of the Truman Brewary. Cue all the girls running up onto the roof to catch a glimpse. #PrayForDavid.'

Another wrote: 'David Beckham is currently on the roof of my workplace IN HIS PANTS! And that's a tweet I never expected to write! :).'

David launched his H&M Bodywear range in February 2012 after previously modelling underwear alongside his wife for Armani.
