Just days ago she was in Italy scouting wedding locations.

But on Friday night, Jessica Simpson got back to her roots as she stepped out looking impeccably fresh faced and make-up free to swoop in and collect some take-out dinner, with her 17-month-old daughter Maxwell back in her arms.

The 33-year-old singer also showed off her legs in tight skinny jeans while she and her husband-to-be Eric Johnson prepared for a night in back in Los Angeles.

Apart from some clear lip gloss, Jessica did not appear to have a single spec of make-up on her radiant face as she beamed her way out of the Mexican eatery with her
little one perched on her hip.

Her famously luscious blonde locks fell around her shoulders as she showed off what looked to be a tan from her Italian adventure.

The songstress paraded her pins in particularly skinny jeans that flattered her frame beautifully, capping them off with elegant black pumps.

A casual white T-shirt with a black blazer thrown over the top completed Jessica's look for the family outing, during which she clung to Maxwell.

She must have been eager to get back to her children - including her three-month-old Ace Knute - after a whirlwind romantic jaunt in Italy with her fiance Eric.

The happy couple were on the Island of Capri looking for potential wedding locations, where they were spotted looking blissfully in love in their fanciest European tourist attire.

Jessica and Eric, 34, have been engaged since November 11, 2010.

The Yale graduate proposed to Simpson just six months after they first met. He presented her with a five-carat ruby Neil Lane ring with two diamonds.

'He had talked to my mom and dad and my sister three weeks before he asked me,' she said, adding: 'I can't believe all the Simpsons kept a secret.'

The star was watching Parenthood when the former NFL player asked her to pause the show so he could pop the question.

'He got down on his knee and I had to sit down on it because I was so shocked' she has said, before describing her reaction:'I was... short of breath. It was definitely one of those moments where I've never felt that way before, ever.'

Last week: Jessica and Eric have just been on the island of Capri, Italy, to scout for wedding locations
