With Angelina Jolie directing a film in Australia, Brad Pitt arrived solo at the Toronto International Film Festival in Canada on Friday looking every bit the handsome, dapper star.
The 49-year-old actor shone as he lead the way into the theatre to welcome his latest movie, 12 Years A Slave, in which he plays an abolitionist in pre-Civil War America.

12 Years A Slave is based on the 1853 autobiography by Solomon Northup, a free black man who was kidnapped and sold as a slave.
It follows the story of Solomon - played by Chiwetel Ejiofor - who faces harsh cruelty by malevolent slave owner - played by Michael Fassbender.

Directed by Steve McQueen, written by John Ridley, and also produced by Pitt, the film transports the audience back to the mid 19th century slave era revealing the cruelty that abounded during that time.
The movie has a star studded cast also includes Lupita Nyong'o, There Will Be Blood star Paul Dano, Paul Giamatti and The Wire's Michael K Williams.

Meanwhile, Angelina has relocated to Harbour City, Australia, for three months as she directs her new film Unbroken.
It is the second feature film Jolie will direct, following 2011's In The Land Of Blood And Honey, which was nominated for a Golden Globe.
