'My failed engagement was my rock bottom:' Fearne Cotton on why she didn't get Royal Wedding fever... as she opens up about meeting the love of her life

It was day when they entire country united to celebrate the marriage of Prince William to Kate Middleton.
But while many cheerfully toasted the Royal wedding on April 29 2011, Fearne Cotton admitted she was still reeling from a painful split from skateboarder Jesse Jenkins.
She told Cosmopolitan magazine: 'My rock bottom moment was probably a failed engagement when I was 29.

Speaking exclusively to the October issue of Cosmopolitan, the DJ and TV presenter
said the inescapable coverage of William and Kate’s big day left her feeling isolated and alone.
'That felt pretty c**p. It was around the time of the Royal wedding so there was this big thing about marriage everywhere, but my life was the opposite of that.'
Fearne started dating Jenkins in 2008, with the relationship ending several times before they finally got engaged in September 2010.
The 26-year-old skater proposed to the Celebrity Juice panelist after blindfolding her and whisking her off to Richmond Park, where he got down on bended knee.

But with the relationship over for good less than a year later, Fearne admits she convinced herself that she would never have a lasting relationship.
‘I thought, “Oh, that’s me then. I’m not going to meet anyone now,’” she recalled. ‘Plus, I’ve always wanted kids so I started to think, “Should I adopt one day?”’

Her concerns would prove to be unfounded when she met Jesse Wood – the son of Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood.
The happy couple are now parents to son Rex Rayne, whose birth Fearne announced on Twitter in February.

‘What you don’t know at the time is that as one door closes, another opens – and soon after, I met the love of my life and got to have a baby,’ she said. ‘Jesse and I met through a friend who works in a restaurant in Ibiza and we just clicked.
‘I don’t think there’s anything you can really pinpoint when it happens like that. I’d been in love before, but this was different. He makes me laugh, and he balances me out… he makes me laugh all the time and he’s so chilled out.’
‘He’s been to hell and back in certain ways, so nothing fazes him; he takes it all with a pinch of salt.’
