Father-to-be Simon Cowell reveals he'll leave his fortune to charity... but not his offspring

He may be expecting his first child, but Simon Cowell has revealed he still won't be passing on his £225million to his child.
The 53-year-old businessman has said he will leave his wealth to an animal or children's charity as he doesn't believe in passing on fortunes to the next generation.
Simon, who is expecting a son with socialite girlfriend Lauren Silverman believes his massive fortune would be better spent on worthy causes.

The X Factor boss told this month's Esquire magazine: 'I'm going to leave my money
to somebody. A charity, probably - kids and dogs.
'I don't believe in passing on from one generation to another.
'Your legacy has to be that hopefully you gave enough people an opportunity, so that they could do well, and you gave them your time, taught them what you know.'
Simon has worked his way up from the bottom in the music and TV industries, amassing his wealth through shows including American Idol and X Factor, but no matter how much success he has, he never plans to give up work.
He added to the publication: 'A lot of people who retire, they hate their job so much, they just love the idea of not working any more.
'That horrifies me. I'm going to be still working in my 80s or 90s.'
If Simon does leave his riches to charity it is likely to benefit the canine world, as he has long been a supporter of homes for stray pooches, helping set up a dog sanctuary on Barbados with a £10,000 donation and giving £100,000 to another shelter in Toluca Lake, California.
It was only a few days ago that Cowell revealed he will be welcoming a son when Lauren gives birth.

The music mogul accompanied his pregnant girlfriend Lauren Silverman to an ultrasound recently where they reportedly discovered they will be having a mini-Cowell.
According to the New York Daily News, Simon is ‘over the moon’ and couldn’t resist spilling the beans to some friends.
A source told Confidenti@l: ‘He is over the moon to be having a son.’
Simon also spoke out about the scan to UK’s The Times newspaper, although he didn’t open up about the baby’s sex.
On Monday he said, ‘I went to see a scan today and it is just surreal. You literally see this thing which is now alive moving around. I feel very paternal right now.’

Although he can’t wait to start a family with New York socialite Lauren, 36, who was spotted taking her seven-year-old son Adam from her marriage to Andrew Silverman to school in Riverdale, New York on Tuesday, Cowell isn’t too keen on all aspects of fatherhood.
Asked whether he was looking forward to becoming a parent, he told BBC Breakfast: ‘I am good with kids because I like kids. I really do like them and I listen to them.
‘Once I got used to it (becoming a father) I did get excited. I think I will be a good dad, so I'm excited.’
But Cowell insisted that he will not deal with dirty nappies.

‘I'm not doing that, 100% absolutely not going near that,’ he said and when asked whether he would delegate to someone else, he replied: ‘Of course.’
Cowell also hinted that he will not let his baby get in the way when it comes to getting his beauty sleep.
Warned by Harry Hill, who has written The X Factor musical, that he would feel exhausted from sleepless nights, he replied: ‘Can't I just get a nanny?’
