Diamonds are forever: Dannii Minogue flouts the dress code in a statement body necklace at the Emeralds and Ivy Ball

She was attending the star-studded Emeralds and Ivy Ball in Sydney.

But Dannii Minogue decided that diamonds were more her thing on Friday as she made a statement with a vintage-style black gown adorned with diamantes at the neck and shoulders.

The Australian X Factor judge smouldered in the black satin gown which featured a ‘body necklace’ which extended from a statement centrepiece to the shoulders and draped down to the waist.

The dress flattered the 41-year-old singer’s petite frame, with a sexy split at the front that revealed a flash of leg and prevented its length from swamping the star.

The singer teamed her dress with a matching diamante clutch bag, diamond earrings and black satin heels. related]

Dannii also looked to have had long hair extensions fitted for the night out and wore her glossy brunette hair styled into glamorous waves.

She appeared lightly tanned and wore bold and sultry makeup, going for smokey eyes and claret-coloured lips.

The star attended the annual  Emeralds & Ivy Ball in Sydney, which is co-hosted by Ronan Keating to raise funds for Cancer Council Australia. 

Meanwhile, Dannii is currently mentoring the over-24s on the current series of the Australian X Factor and has brought in her older sister Kylie to help her decide who to take through to the next round.

Kylie previously helped her sister pick her final three while working as a judge on the UK version of the show in 2009, and said she was thrilled to return.

‘Dannii is so good at this, I’m just along for the ride. It’s really fun to do something together, so it was a done deal when she asked me,’ she said recently.

Kylie, 45, is also set to take up a similar role to Dannii, as a judge on third series of The Voice, which begins in January.

Dannii tweeted her delight at the news, writing: ‘Big love and congratulations to my sister. #TheVoice coach Minogue style in action soon!’
