‘America’s Got Talent’ Results Recap: A Fan-Favorite Singer Gets The Boot

America's Got Talent Jonathan Allen

This week’s round of semi-final cuts left six acts headed to the next round and six acts going home. Did your favorite(s) get a spot in the top 12?

America’s Got Talent is turning up the heat in the competition in the first round of semi-finals. The road to the top 12 is a tough one as six acts were sent home after the Aug. 27 performances. Some of our favorites were saved by America’s vote and some made their last appearance on the Radio City
Music Hall stage. The Voice winner Cassadee Pope also performed her hit single “Wasting All These Tears.”

‘America’s Got Talent’ Aug. 28 Results:

Innovative Force, one hit wonder Tone Tha Chiefrocca, and juggling extraordinaire Red Panda were the first acts to face elimination. This one was a no brainer. There was no doubt that Innovative Force wouldn’t move on. America voted right on these young ladies.
Acrobat couple Duo Resonance, singer Jonathan Allen, and tenor group Forte were up next. Now this elimination is ultimately between Jonathan and Forte. They are both so good! Howie Mandel predicted that Forte’s incredible performance would send Jonathan home — and he was right. While we are sad to lose Jonathan, we can’t help but be happy for Forte!
The battle between the comedians and magic was on! Comedians Angela Hoover and Taylor Williamson and teen magician Collins Key were the third group fighting it out for a top 12 spot. It was no surprise that fan favorite Collins avada kedavrad himself into the next round with America’s vote.
It came down to Angela and Taylor — and it was no laughing matter. This was tough because both comedians had a good night. However, Taylor’s performance edged out Angela’s and he was sent to the top 12. Hopefully we get more Heidi Klum and Taylor banter!
The final trio up for elimination is Catapult Entertainment and singers Cami Bradley and Dave Fenley. There are two spots left and three on the stage. It seems Howard Stern’s comment that “we can’t help falling in love with you” proved true for Cami because she was voted a spot in the top 12.
Once again, it was up to the judges to decide the fate of Catapult and Dave. Mel B obviously chose Dave after he sang a Spice Girls song. Who wouldn’t? Howard’s choice was easy, and he went with Catapult. While she liked both performances, Heidi thought Catatpult’s was just a little bit better than Dave’s. Howie said he was making the toughest choice of the season and he went with…
Catapult Entertainment!
Here you go, America’s Got Talent fans — the top 12 acts! This competition is getting so intense and we know next week’s performances are going to take America’s Got Talent to a whole new level!
